Kano Police Reel Out Achievements As It Declares War Against Crimes and Criminalities

The Kano State Police Command has launched “Operation Kukan Kura,” a special security initiative aimed at combating crimes such as thuggery, banditry, kidnapping, and drug trafficking. This operation, launched on July 1, 2025, is designed to detect and prevent crimes through community policing and intelligence-led operations.

Key Achievements:

  • Arrests:
    • 4 suspected kidnappers
    • 21 suspected armed robbers
    • 5 suspected drug dealers
    • 12 suspected motor vehicle thieves
    • 4 suspected fraudsters
    • 5 suspected thieves
    • 47 suspected thugs

Total arrests: 98 suspects involved in 21 major cases

  • Recoveries:
    • 6 stolen motor vehicles
    • 8 tricycles
    • 10 motorcycles
    • 42 tubes of red solutions
    • 35 parcels and 1,123 wraps of suspected cannabis sativa
    • 86 bottles of “suck and die”
    • 10 sachets and 53 pieces of diazepam tablets
    • 16 cutlasses and 98 knives
    • $10,000 counterfeit US dollars
    • 13 mobile phones
    • 5 motor batteries and 3 motor spare tires
