Police In Hot Chase Of Criminal Gang Members Others In Custody – Anambra Police

ANAMBRA POLICE ARRESTS THREE MORE SUSPECTS GIVEN THE CONFESSION OF A DETAINEE: RECOVERS ONE AUTOMATIC PUMP ACTION GUN, TWO SUSPECTED STOLEN VEHICLES AND OTHER INCRIMINATING ITEMS AT AGUKWU – NRI, ANAOCHA LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA

The Anambra State Police Command’s Rapid Response Squad (RRS) recently made significant arrests and recoveries.

According to SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the Spokesperson for the Anambra State Police Command, he acknowledged the arrest of those behind the acts.

  • Arrests:

Three suspects, Monday Onoja, Sanusi Muhammed, and Kenneth Nwokpu, all males aged 27-32, were arrested on May 30, 2025, based on information from an armed suspect in custody.

Speaking further, SP Tochukwu Ikenga affirm the following recoveries :

- *Firearm:* One automatic pump-action gun
- *Vehicles:*
    - A white Mercedes Benz C300 4matic car with registration number KWC 140
    - An ash Lexus 350 car with registration number 669 CY
- *Other items:* Two exotic phones suspected to have been stolen from victims.
  • Investigation: The RRS has expanded investigations and taken measures to arrest other gang members still at large, showcasing the Command’s proactive approach to disrupting criminal networks.

The Anambra Police Command has been actively working to improve security in the state, including reorganizing the RRS unit to enhance operational effectiveness and transparency.

This effort aims to strengthen evidence gathering, facilitate successful prosecutions, and boost overall security ,SP Tochukwu Ikenga has said in the report available to Aiyekooto Reporters.
