Kano State Police Rejig Security Architecture Despite Fake News On 18-seater bus Killings

KANO STATE COMMAND COMMENDS THE COOPERATION OF DIFFERENT STAKEHOLDERS IN PROMOTING PEACEFUL COEXISTENCE, WARNS AGAINST SPREADING OF MALICIOUS FAKE NEWS CAPABLE OF CAUSING APPREHENSION AND PUBLIC DISORDER

The Kano State Police Command has debunked false reports of an 18-seater bus carrying Igbo individuals being set ablaze and an Igbo man being killed in a reprisal attack. These malicious reports, aimed at instigating violence, have been dismissed by community stakeholders and the police command. A press release by the Kano State Police Command has said.

Speaking further, the Spokesperson for the State , SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa has assured citizens of the state that the police are aware of the fake news capable to cause public disorders, while a step further have been taken to ensure strict security measures.

The Security Measures in Place

To ensure peace and order, the command has:

  • Urged residents to remain calm and avoid engaging in unlawful gatherings or protests
