POLITICAL PARTY PRIMARIES AHEAD OF 2025 GUBERNATORIAL ELECTION IN ANAMBRA: CP ORUTUGU ADMONISHES OFFICERS TO BE APOLITICAL AND URGES CANDIDATES TO PLAY BY THE RULE

Anambra State Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, has issued a crucial reminder to his officers to remain professional, apolitical, and neutral as the state prepares for its gubernatorial election. With political parties’ primaries underway, CP Orutugu emphasized the importance of a peaceful and credible electoral process.

To ensure this, the police command has strategically deployed personnel and engaged with stakeholders to prevent conflicts . SP Tochukwu Ikenga has said in a statement released to the effect .

According to the Police Public Relations Officer of the state, SP Ikenga said security measures has been adopted and put in place as follows.

Key Security Measures:

  • Security Patrols: Police teams will conduct regular patrols, surveillance, and traffic control in collaboration with other security agencies.
  • Public Cooperation: The public is urged to cooperate with the police and other security agencies to maintain law and order.

This proactive approach aims to build confidence and trust among the electorate, ensuring a smooth voting process.
