PSC APPOINTS AGBONIKA CP EDO, DIRECTS HIM TO GO RESTORE SANITY IN THE STATE

In what serve as a necessary shake up in Edo State Police Command, it becomes necessary to meet up with the heating security situation in Edo State hence, Monday Agbonika has been approved as the new Commissioner of Police in Edo State, taking over from CP Betty Enekpen Isokpan Otimenyin.

According to reports, Agbonika, who was previously the Commissioner of Police, Mounted Troop, Force Equitation Officer at the Force Headquarters, has 32 years of experience in operations, investigation, administration, and more.

The Spokesperson for the Police Service Commission, Ikechukwu Ani said , the new Edo State Commissioner of Police, Monday Agbonika, has been tasked with reducing the crime rate in the state and addressing recent killings. During his posting interview at the Police Service Commission, he was advised to be proactive, settle down quickly, and win the confidence of the people.

CP Agbonika was also reminded of the importance of documenting every incident and action taken, as well as consulting relevant stakeholders and keeping them informed of his actions. Notably, the Police Service Commission emphasized that his success in the state will depend on how he handles the arrested suspects from the recent killings.

CP Agbonika has been advised to strike a balance between the requisite Police Departments and Tactical Units, ensuring that neither is sidelined. This advice is crucial in maintaining effective policing and addressing the unique challenges in Edo State .

With 32 years of experience under his belt, CP Agbonika is well-equipped to handle the responsibilities of his new role.
