RIVERS STATE POLICE COMMAND CONFIRMS INVITATION OF NDC PRESIDENT FOR QUESTIONING
The Rivers State Police Command recently confirmed that Mr. Nubari Saatah, President of the Niger Delta Congress (NDC), was invited for questioning regarding the organization’s calls for public protests in Rivers State .
A statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Grace Iringe-Koko has said.
According to the Police Spokesperson, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, the police sought clarification on the nature and objectives of these planned demonstrations to ensure public safety and prevent potential security risks.
The NDC had condemned President Bola Tinubu’s decision to declare a state of emergency in Rivers State, suspending the governor, deputy governor, and state assembly. The organization labeled this move as “indirect and undemocratic rule” and urged residents to protest .
The police have urged residents and stakeholders to uphold peace and stability, recognizing that security is in everyone’s best interest. They remain committed to protecting lives and property while enforcing law and order.
