Police Adopts Non -Kinetic Approach To Fight Juvenile Crimes Across Nigeria – ACP Olabisi Okuwobi

IGP’s POCACOV held it’s First Ramadan Lecture in Southwest, Nigeria

The Inspector-General of Police’s (IGP) initiative, Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV), recently held its first Ramadan lecture in the Southwest region, focusing on crime reduction.

The National Coordinator Assistant Commissioner of Police, Olabisi Okuwobi, emphasize that the event aimed to promote unity and advocacy against crime among peer groups, particularly youths.

The Police czar ACP Olabisi Okuwobi , strongly upheld the purpose of the reform from the Nigeria Police Force targets to prevent crime instead of allowing the consequences of crime to slap us on the face. POCACOV is a non -kinetic policing approach to address juvenile crime occasioned by youthful exuberance.

The lecture, themed “Name, Fame, Shame & Consequences of People’s Actions,” featured dignitaries from government agencies, senior police officers, and Muslim scholars. Guest lecturer, Alhaji Abdulgafar Kukoyi emphasized the significance of Ramadan and urged youths to desist from crime.

According to the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abdulfatai Tijani who stood for Lagos State Police Command said that Parent and Children should be firm and create a synergy against crime while ensuring the significance that crimes and criminality doesn’t pay any either. Admonishing them to do away from rape, cultism and other vices. Though he’s of the opinion that the teeming youthful population are definitely captured on the Ramadan lecture to orientate our children against crime . The timely intervention is good for both spiritual cleansing and advocacy against crime.

POCACOV’s efforts align with the IGP’s directive to reduce crime rates. The initiative has been active in various states of the federation. The National Coordinator, ACP Olabisi Okuwobi has said in the Ramadan lecture.
