Abba Kyari’s family has released a statement denying reports that he operated 10 bank accounts with N200 million. According to the statement, Kyari has accounts in only four banks – UBA, GTB, Sterling, and Access – with a combined balance of less than N4 million.
The family claims that Kyari has savings and current accounts in these four banks, totaling eight accounts, as well as one inactive dollar account and one inactive Euro account. They also stated that the total cumulative deposits and withdrawals from these accounts over the past 23 years amount to N200 million, which includes his salaries, allowances, and legitimate expenses .
The statement further asserts that no funds in Kyari’s accounts were linked to any crime, as confirmed by a prosecution witness during cross-examination. The family urges Nigerians not to believe the false reports, which they claim are part of a sponsored media trial.
It’s worth noting that other sources, such as Vanguard, have reported that a witness testified in court that Kyari received over N200 million through 10 different bank accounts . However, the family’s statement denies these allegations, and the matter is still under investigation.
