Police Arrest Church Member For Kidnapping Two Reverend Fathers

CP’S RENEWED ACTION PLAN YIELDED RESULTS AS 34 YEARS OLD CHURCH MEMBER ARRESTED FOR KIDNAPPING HIS TWO REVEREND FATHERS

A 34-year-old church member, Tahamado Jonathan Demian, has been arrested for kidnapping his two reverend fathers, Abraham Samman and Matthew David Dusami, from the Catholic Dioceses of Yola and Jalingo, respectively.

The Spokesperson for the Adamawa State Police Command, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje has said in the released report, according to him in a coordinated rescue operation, the police successfully rescued the two reverend fathers unhurt, without paying any ransom.

Stating further, SP Nguroje disclosed to journalists that the operation, which began on February 21, 2025, targeted various criminal hideouts in the state before unraveling the mysterious disappearance of the reverend fathers.

The suspect is currently in custody, undergoing discreet investigation. The police have recovered a locally fabricated assault rifle, a handset, and SIM cards. Upon conclusion of investigations the law will take it cause, he assured .

The Commissioner of Police CP Dankombo Morris expressed gratitude for the support from the government, sister security agencies, and the public.

He encouraged continued cooperation to ensure timely responses to emergency situations and pledged to ensure peace and security across the state through diligent prosecution of the suspect, SP Nguroje has said in the reports monitored by Aiyekooto Reporters correspondent
