An Ikale born mathematician, a Nigerian scholar of note earns Prestigious Isaac Newton Research Fellowship….to unravel and solve a 20 years mathematical problem.

It is with great pleasure that I commend Dr. Aroloye Soluade Joseph, a distinguished Nigerian mathematics scholar, on his outstanding achievement of being awarded the prestigious Isaac Newton Research Fellowship.

This remarkable feat is a testament to Dr. Aroloye’s exceptional academic excellence, innovative research, and dedication to advancing the field of mathematics.

As the first African to receive this esteemed award, Dr. Aroloye has not only brought honor to himself, but also to Nigeria and the entire African continent.

His invitation to Cambridge University in London for a month-long research activity is a further endorsement of his expertise and a recognition of the significant contributions he is making to the global mathematical community.

Dr. Aroloye’s achievement serves as an inspiration to aspiring mathematicians and scientists across Africa, demonstrating that with hard work, determination, and passion, they too can achieve greatness and make a meaningful impact in their chosen fields.

His journey began in Ode-Irele, Nigeria, and further to this, graduated with a first-class honors degree in Mathematics, a Master’s degree with distinction, and a PhD in Applied Mathematics, all from the University of Lagos.
