1.On the 21/12/2021 at about 1010hrs, Operatives attached to Eagle-net special squad while on routine stop and search along Ughelli/Warri road, intercepted a motorcycle with two (2) male occupants. On sighting the Police, the passenger alighted from the motorcycle and ran into a nearby bush. He was given a hot chase and the unrelenting efforts of the Police led to the arrest of the suspect named Mamus Obine age 18years from Agbarho in Ughelli North LGA, Delta state. Upon searching the bag the suspect was carrying, one (1) locally made double barrel pistol and ten (10) live cartridges were recovered. Preliminary investigation later revealed that the suspect operate with two other suspects namely Austin and ThankGod ( both surnames unknown). The suspect confessed that he was after one Kingsley whom he had issues of money sharing with after he defrauded his victim of the sum Eight Hundred thousand naira (#800,000) from internet fraud and that he was about going to attack the said Kingsley with the gun when the police intercepted and arrested him. Investigation is on while manhunt for the other members of the gang is ongoing.
